Sberbank Markets Algo Development Team Job Spec

Sberbank is currently building out a cross-product, global, electronic trading platform and we are looking for a number of people to help deliver this strategically important and exciting programme of work. The Sberbank Markets team is responsible for building the core algorithmic trading infrastructure the delivery of which will form the bedrock of much of electronic trading.

This role we are looking to fill is developer who would be keen to be involved in a highly visible and crucial part of the project. The Sberbank Markets team is a small, results focused group that is working closely with the FX desk to implement a number of parts of this platform, mainly the development of algorithms and the surrounding framework. Because of the bespoke nature of the development work in this project, the successful candidate must show an eagerness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies.

Experience in at least one of C/C++/C#/Java is required, but training will be provided and the right attitude from the candidate may offset some lack of depth of knowledge. However, it will be essential to pick things up quickly as the project timeline is challenging and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to delivery relatively quickly.

Real-time server application development exposure

Messaging technologies, data integration techniques (required)

Multi-threaded development and design (desired)

High throughput, low latency development and design (desired)

FIX protocol experience (advantageous)

Fluency in English (required)

Domain knowledge

FX front-office (desired)

Capital Markets (desired)

Soft skills

Comfortable to gather specifications from and interact with the trading desk and quants (required)

Able to work semi-autonomously (required)

Experience working on or with a trading desk (advantageous)

Work in a high paced environment (required)


Able to work within a small, results focused, team (required)

Interested to learn other programming languages and techniques (required)

Event Oriented Design (highly advantageous)

Knowledge of CEP (advantageous)

Knowledge of Apama (extremely advantageous)
